How To Connect Device To Windows Media Player

Inactive profile

Hi Chandra,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are unable to sync the device with media player.

I suggest you to check if the sync settings are correct or not.

Method 1:

If the settings are incorrect follow the below steps:

1. Open Windows Media Player.

2. Click the arrow below sync tab, go to device option.

3. Right click on it and click on Advanced Options.

4. Go to properties in Sync tab, check mark Start sync when device connects check box.

5. Restart the media player.

The next time if you want to sync, connect the device to your computer, click the Sync tab, and then click Start Sync.

Method 2:

Set up device to sync in WMP, follow the below link:

Chandra-I think i have found how to copy songs from the media player to a device such as a SDHC.  From the media player - right click on the song and then click on OPEN FILE LOCATION.  When the file location opens click on the song again.  A window will open.  Click on SEND TO.   A window will open with choices of places to send the song to.  In my case it was the computer's SD slot.  At least now those songs i have picked are listed where i want them - on my card.  It duplicates the name of the song on the media player but this doesnt matter.  I hope this helps you.  And anyone who is searching.

I know how to copy songs to the device, but I need playlists, when I play shows in different venues, I use different playlists for break music.
